My Nutrition Philosophy
My nutrition philosophy is based on a core belief that food is more than just food – it is health, performance, relationships, family, culture, tradition, and pleasure. In a word, it is Life!
My goal is to support the best and healthiest version of you, whether you aim to enhance athletic performance, reduce inflammation, optimize your GI health, prevent disease, or just want to live a healthier, longer life. We will focus on NOURISHING foods, a BALANCED approach, and REALISTIC cooking.
Nourishing Food.
Nourishing our body with quality food is the basis for overall health, but also is the optimal way to fuel performance. Choosing foods that taste good when you eat them, and help your body feel good after is the key to thriving on the field, in the board room, at home, or wherever you need to bring your best self.
I believe my role is to share science-based recommendations, guidance, and education to help you incorporate nourishing mostly plant-based foods in a way that will allow you to thrive. This is done through individualized coaching sessions, group presentations, or workshops (Contact me here).
Balanced Approach.
Food is one of life's greatest pleasures, it is not meant to be feared, it is meant to nourish every part of your life. Moving our mindset to balance and abundance instead of strict rules allows us to live our lives to the fullest.
Building habits through small sustainable changes will support a healthy lifestyle for a lifetime. Overhauling your whole life with large abrupt changes is generally unrealistic and not sustainable. It can also get in the way of your best performance. It took a lifetime to build the habits you have today, it will take some time to build new ones.
I believe my role is to guide, support, and provide tools that help you on the road to building these habits and learning how to listen to what your body needs. This is done through individualized coaching that promotes balance in your life while working towards your goals. (Contact me here)
Realistic Cooking.
Cooking is the vehicle for making healthy eating happen and so often when talking with clients it is also the biggest barrier to making changes. Many recipes are over-complicated with too many fancy ingredients, and steps and just take too much time.
I believe my role is to share simple, fresh, plant-focused eating and cooking methods that are within anyone's reach and use common ingredients that fuel your body and lifestyle. I do this through interactive cooking and food prep classes (request here) and simple recipes
